Your ideas can help shape the future of water

The "Water Pioneers" Youth Program, launched by The Mohamed bin Zayed Water Initiative, is designed to equip Emirati youth aged 18 to 35 with the:

  • Knowledge
  • Skills
  • Capabilities

to contribute to addressing water scarcity

Water Pioneers

The Program welcomes youth from diverse academic and professional backgrounds. Prior knowledge or experience in the water sector is not required; what matters is:

  • A willingness to learn
  • Contribute your perspective
  • Engage with water challenges

Selected participants will have opportunities to learn from experts, engage with real water challenges, and connect with peers and partners throughout the Program.

Why do you want to join The "Water Pioneers" Youth Program?

Think about water scarcity and what it means for the UAE and the world. This could connect to areas such as desalination, groundwater, agriculture, conservation, climate resilience or food security. What water-related challenge matters most to you, and why?

What perspective would you bring to the Program? Tell us about one experience, project, activity, or achievement that shows your leadership, initiative, or commitment to impact.

Water is connected to climate, food, energy, technology, finance, behavior, and culture. Choose one of these connections and explain why it matters for the UAE.

Your video can be recorded on your phone and does not need to be edited. We are interested in your ideas, motivation and clarity; production quality will not form part of the assessment.

Availability and Travel

The Program will run for 12 months and may include virtual sessions, in-person activities, site visits, events, and potential travel opportunities. Please help us understand your availability and ability to participate.

Travel expenses of international events will be covered
